Just a reminder that registrations are closing Friday next week for the 2019 WA Branch Annual Scientific Meeting. This year the conference will again be hosted at The Australian Institute of Management WA, The Leadership Centre, 76 Birkdale Floreat WA 6014. Click here to register! Kind regards, WA Branch Executive Janine Panizza Award: Call for NominationsAn award has been named in honour of Janine Panizza to commemorate her life and her contribution to respiratory science and the TSANZ in Western Australia. Janine was a member of the Society who greatly contributed to its heart and soul. She graduated with honours from the University of WA with a BSc in 1983 and obtained MSc in 1996 for her studies of diaphragm function with Bill Finucane. Janine’s thoroughness, objectivity and integrity in her research were always evident. These attributes were surpassed only by her generous spirit which always encouraged others and which formed an integral part of the supportive, cooperative, congenial and scientifically productive life of the Society. Janine died at the age of 41 in 2001. Eligibility: The Janine Panizza award ($500) will be presented to an individual who is judged to have provided important support for WA respiratory science, research or clinical medicine. The nominee may have assisted in a technical or administrative capacity, or provided any other form of support within or across different groups. Nominations are open to TSANZ Associate Members as well as Members of ANZSRS. Click here to download the Nomination Form. The Janine Panizza award will be presented annually at the TSANZ (WA branch) conference dinner.
