Board Member Changes
On behalf of all Board members and ANZSRS members, I would like to thank Faizel Hartley for his time on the ANZSRS Board. Faizel has chosen to step down as an ANZSRS Director, effectively immediately, to pursue another career opportunity. I am rest assured we will all be seeing Faizel in his new role very soon.
Faizel has dedicated over 5 years as an ANZSRS Director holding the portfolios of Policy and Governance, Business and Finance and Professional Standards. On behalf of all members, I would like to thank Faizel for the dedication and passion he has shown ANZSRS. We wish him all the very best in the next phase of his career.
As a result of Faizel’s resignation, the Board had the option to duly appoint a Board member to occupy the last 7-months of Faizel’s term. The Board has appointed Grace Madden (QLD) as an ANZSRS Director. Grace has been an ANZSRS Webmaster for the past year and will work under the exceptional tutelage of current ANZSRS Director, Phillip Munoz, to take control of the Communications Portfolio until the 2020 Annual General Meeting.
We would like to formally welcome Grace to the ANZSRS Board and wish her well in the Director role.
Board Member Nominations
At the 2020 AGM, 2 Board Directors will retire from office. Coupled with the aforementioned resignation, there will be 3 ANZSRS Director vacancies. This creates a huge opportunity for 3 Ordinary financial members to take the next step and contribute to our great society by way of the Board. I encourage all members to consider nominating. This is an opportunity to learn new skills, learn more about the structure and function of ANZSRS, and provides an avenue for you to influence how your society will look now, and in to the future.
Talk to your colleagues who have, or currently hold, a Board position and see what opportunities exist outside of the respiratory laboratory.
A call for nominations for Board Directors will be circulated towards the end of October this year.
