Hello Visitor,

With only weeks until the end of 2019, it’s almost time to put down the mouthpiece, lock-up the calibration syringe and turn off the gas cylinder. I would like to wish you all a well-deserved holiday period.

This year has been yet another successful year for the ANZSRS. Our continued success and strength are only made possible by our valued members. Thank you to all who contribute in various ways, it is greatly appreciated. Lets all look forward to 2020 with excitement and opportunity!

ANZSRS has recently changed our conferencing platform to Zoom. As a result, Zoom is now available to all financial members to facilitate communication between members. Whether that be for engaging regional members in branch meetings, recording a webinar or organising an educational event, Zoom can help you connect professionally with each other. If you wish to use the ANZSRS Zoom account, please contact our talented Webmasters (webmaster@anzsrs.org.au) with your meeting request.

While resting on your holiday break, I encourage you to consider applying for the inaugural ANZSRS Dr Maureen P. Swanney International Travel Award. This award was established by ANZSRS and MGC Diagnostics Inc. in acknowledgement of Maureen’s outstanding societal contributions. Rather than to present scientific work, this Award is offered to encourage and support scientific collaboration of clinical respiratory scientists with attendance at a relevant international meeting. Set to a total of AUD $2,500, it can be used to help cover the cost of registration, travel and accommodation. Completed and signed copies of your application and all documentation must be uploaded through the ANZSRS Member Portal by 5:00pm AEST the 31st January 2020.

While we are speaking of the ANZSRS Member Portal, the CRFS application process is now live! Members wishing to sit the CRFS exam in May 2020 can now access the ANZSRS Member Portal, register for the exam and upload all relevant documentation.

If you need assistance with any portal related issues, please contact Grace Madden, Director of Communications (communications@anzsrs.org.au).

Finally, membership renewals will be sent on 12th December 2019. I encourage you all to renew your ANZSRS membership and take advantage of the early bird discount to the 2020 TSANZSRS Annual Scientific Meeting. Early bird registrations close 24th January 2020.

And when renewing your ANZSRS membership, be sure to opt in to the joint ANZSRS/ERS membership which is free for members!

I wish you all a safe holiday period and look forward to working with you in 2020!

Sincerely,

Jarrod Warner

President
