Hello Visitor,

Firstly, Happy New Year!  I know there will be a lot of mixed feelings out there about the push back of the border opening, but at the very least we have been gifted some extra time to prepare.

With such, ANZSRS WA will be hosting an Open Forum via Teams on Thursday 3rd February.  This will provide an opportunity to put our heads together and find solutions for some of the practicalities of working with COVID-19 in the community.

Please bring along any questions you may have (along with potential solutions if you have any!) to the group.

Some things floating around my head…

  • Do the TSANZ guidelines for PPE requirements extend to tests not involving spirometry e.g. FeNO?
  • Will you be asking staff to work in gowns and gloves? – If yes – for what tests?
  • Are labs planning ‘fallow times’ between patients (depending on ventilation)?
  • Do you have any ideas how to reduce numbers in waiting rooms?
  • Will you be performing extra cleaning for equipment?  How often?
  • And the tricky questions of vaccination status….will unvaccinated patients be treated as immunocompromised and tested at the end of the day?
  • How long after testing positive can patients come in?  What about staff?

The more heads we have, I’m sure the better the solutions that we come up with will be, and the better we will be able to protect our patients and staff.

Please use the Link below to join the meeting.

We hope to ‘see’ you there!

Kind regards,

Adam and Liz
