Hello Visitor,

Due to a high level of interest for the QLD Vice-Chair position, we will hold an election to appoint the new ANZSRS QLD Regional Vice-Chair.

As a member of the QLD Region, you now have the opportunity to cast your vote to elect who you would like as your next Vice-Chair via the link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LFPQRDN. The survey will close on Monday the 14th of October 2019.

Please see below a short paragraph from each person who are running for the Vice-Chair position:

Erin CRUMPLER (Sunshine Coast University Hospital)

Hello, my name is Erin Crumpler, I am a Respiratory and Sleep Scientist at Sunshine Coast University Hospital. After completing my degree at USC in 2014, I started working as a locum Respiratory Scientist throughout North Brisbane and Sunshine Coast. My experience and roles have been very diverse, rewarding and opened the door to many clinical opportunities. My passion is for helping people and providing education to patients and future scientists about Respiratory and Sleep disorders. I have been a member of ANZSRS for a few years now, taking on the role as Webmaster and participating in meetings and conferences whenever possible. The position of Vice Chair would be ideal for me to create more connections with other Scientists working throughout Queensland, participate in planning educational meetings and in more public speaking opportunities.

Margy BRITTON (The Prince Charles Hospital)

I have nominated for the position of vice chair to broaden and share my skills. I relocated to Brisbane from Perth in 2016 and feel I have settled into the community enough to step up and give back to the respiratory scientist’ community. I expect the position to teach me as
much as I have to share.

My strengths include:

  • My personality - I like to organise and plan and I have an approachable nature.
  • I hold years of experience in respiratory, sleep and cardiac with a post graduate certificate in Respiratory Science and the CRFS certification. I have experience mentoring students and young scientists and was involved in the Mine Workers Health
    in WA.

My weaknesses:

  • public speaking - I’m hoping this role will help develop that!

My intentions are that my varied experience, knowledge and skills combined with my personality would benefit the Queensland ANZSRS branch in a supportive role and allow me acquire the knowledge, skills and network to lead into the role of chair. I would appreciate your consideration for the position of vice chair.

Andrew COLLARO (Queensland Children’s Hospital)

I would like to express interest in the position of the Regional Queensland Vice Chair. I am Respiratory and Sleep Scientist based at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. In addition to the lab position where I work clinically, I am also working towards my PhD. My research
focuses on the spirometry of children seen at paediatric outreach clinics, and the establishment of reference values for spirometry, FeNO, DLCO and lung volumes in the adult Indigenous Australian population. I am interested in the vice chair position as it is a great opportunity to connect and network with other respiratory scientists in the region and
across the state. I wish to be actively involved with ANZSRS and to contribute to the society in a meaningful way. To this role I bring excellent organisational skills, an enthusiasm to learn the ropes and a willingness to facilitate engaging and interactive bi-monthly meetings.

Kind Regards,

Rachel Price
