Hello Visitor,
Thank you to everyone who attended the inaugural QLD ANZSRS Trivia Night at the Fox Hotel. The evening was a great success and hopefully remains on our calendar of events. The current easing of COVID restrictions in Brisbane permitted members to finally interact face to face and created a great opportunity for networking.
The evening comprised of three rounds of trivia questions that challenged everyone’s knowledge of respiratory anatomy and physiology, music, sports, geography and current affairs. A recorded message from our sponsors who are in lockdown interstate was presented. On completion of the trivia, bonus points were added from deciphering respiratory anagrams to determine the evenings’ winning table who went home to feast on a prize of chocolates.
The branch news of the evening included a reminder that the CRFS exam date has moved to Thursday 28thOctober due to the recently announced Brisbane public holiday on the Friday. The recent case of the month, a prospective study on respiratory outcomes following COVID-19 was kindly submitted by Ryan Wall from QRS and is available on the ANZSRS website. A reminder also was given of the opening of applications for the Jeff Pretto Memorial Research Grant.
Abstract submissions for the upcoming TSANZSRS Annual Scientific Meeting 2022 in Adelaide close on the 22nd October and online registrations for the TSANZSRS/ANZSRS NZ Meeting 2021 on 29thSeptember are still open.
Although we were able to enjoy the opportunity to meet face to face for this meeting, a prompt to keep networking and support the QLD branch through the Respiratory Scientists facebook page and keep up to date with news through the ANZSRS website was encouraged.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 10th at the Queensland Children’s Hospital, please mark the date in your calendars. We look forward to seeing you there.
