I hope you have all been well.
Our annual Trivia Night was held recently on Friday, July 15 at Catchment Brewing Co. Thank you to our sponsors of the evening, MGC Diagnostics Australia (formerly Ascencia), for their generous support of our Trivia Night over the last few years. It was great to have MGCD representatives Glenn and Shaun join us in Brisbane for the fun. The evening saw 4 teams compete for glory over 2 rounds of general knowledge and respiratory trivia and a round of ‘sound snippets’ where teams had to guess the song and artist based off only a snippet. Guess the country by silhouette and respiratory wordles were also used for bonus points.
On the night I also shared some branch news which I’ve attached to this email. The ANZSRS Education Hub will be held in Sydney on October 14 and 15. The next CRFS exam will be held on Friday, October 28 with registrations closing on October 3. Lastly, next year’s ASM will be held face-to-face in Christchurch from March 24 to 28 - so save the date!
The August library corner will soon be available to view on the ANZSRS website. A big thank you to Jacob Grehan from Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service for taking the time to collate some interesting articles on Asthma and lung function post-COVID-19 infection. Jacob has done a nice job of summarising the articles and has also provided a link to the full open-access articles for anyone wanting to take a deep dive.
Our next branch will be held on Wednesday, September 14 at 5:30pm. This meeting will be held at our usual spot in Queensland Children’s Hospital (6A Outpatient’s Department Meeting Room, Level 6). I will arrange a Zoom link for those who can’t make it in person.
