Hello Visitor,

The European Respiratory Society (ERS) and more recently, the Australian and New Zealand Society of Respiratory Science (ANZSRS) together with the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ), have released position statements on pulmonary function testing during SARS-CoV-2[1, 2]. The Respiratory Investigation Unit (RIU) at The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH) in Brisbane, Queensland would like to thank all authors for their valued contribution to this important issue.

To explore the response to SARS-CoV-2 and these position statements, we have compiled a questionnaire to identify current strategies used to reduce the risk of SARS-CoV-2 transmission in Australian and New Zealand lung function laboratories. We would like as many laboratories to complete the questionnaire as possible. We welcome responses from a variety of laboratories including hospital and private practices and those with and without TSANZ accreditation. The questionnaire follows a branching method, so you will only be asked relevant questions based on your answer(s) to previous questions. The questionnaire should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. There are 10 sections to the questionnaire. Question 1 (“on behalf of what laboratory are you completing this questionnaire?”) has been asked to ensure only one response per laboratory is included in the analysis. Please note all data will be de-identified.

The questionnaire is on Microsoft Forms and can be accessed by the below link:

Please submit responses by Friday, October 14 at 5pm.

If you have any questions or difficulty accessing/completing the questionnaire on Microsoft Forms please contact Alanna Bodger (Alanna.Bodger@health.qld.gov.au) or Hadla Obeid (Hadla.Obeid@health.qld.gov.au).

We would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this questionnaire, we look forward to sharing our findings.

Kind regards,

Respiratory Investigation Unit
