TSANZSRS 2022 NZ Hub Update

As you may be aware the TSANZSRS Annual Scientific meeting 31st March to 2nd April 2022 is going ahead as a virtual meeting. In Australia, hub meetings are being organised to allow people in individual regions to meet in person and watch the virtual presentations. The TSANZ NZ executive and ANZSRS regional chair considered organising an NZ hub similar to the one organised last May, taking into account feedback from colleagues and from the TSANZ and ANZSRS survey conducted recently. We do not believe there is strong demand for an NZ hub meeting and given the travel distances involved we think it would only be valuable if we were able to organise a program of in person talks alongside the virtual program. This is not a realistic option given the short timescale and the fact that modelling suggests we may be close to peak COVID cases at that time. As a result we have reluctantly concluded that there should not be an NZ hub for the 2022 meeting. 

We encourage you to register and participate in what promises to be an excellent virtual meeting and then we look forward to seeing you in person in Nelson for the NZ branch meeting in September.
