Competency Framework
The framework for attaining competence in pulmonary function testing is intended for respiratory scientists who:
- Are new graduates,
- junior scientists, or
- scientists returning to work after extended leave.
The completion of the competency assessments will provide candidates and their employers with confidence in the ability to provide a safe service for clients, delivered with the highest professional and ethical standards. It will also provide candidates with more extensive knowledge and skills in preparation for the ANZSRS CRFS exam. The framework includes a practical and portfolio assessment.
In addition, the Study Guide is included as an non-compulsory component of the competency framework, however, it is a useful resource for workplace supervisors and/or ANZSRS mentors to supplement the training program in the respiratory function laboratory.
