The ANZSRS membership includes highly experienced professionals involved in Respiratory Medicine as well as recent graduates.Many of the experienced members of the society have valuable skills, expertise and insights that could be more extensively shared within the ANZSRS membership. The ANZSRS Board acknowledges this valuable resource and has established an ANZSRS mentoring program.

This is the experience of ANZSRS members who have taken part to date: “It was ..great to have the support of Mentor’s Name”; “The mentorship programme was excellent”; “It has been nice to discuss topics with colleagues outside of my lab ...... to get a different perspective on certain technical aspects”; “I enjoy being able to pass on some of my experience to a more junior colleague”.

The ANZSRS and TSANZ are pleased to announce that our joint position statement Pulmonary Function Testing during SARS-CoV-2: An ANZSRS/TSANZ position statement is now available online in Respirology and on the ANZSRS website under ANZSRS publications > Position statements.

This was a huge collaborative effort and formal thanks goes to the ANZSRS members involved; Brigitte Borg (Chair), Christian Osdnik, Keith Adams, David Chapman, Catherine Farrow, Vanda Glavas, Kerry Hancock,  Celia Lanteri, Ewan Morris, Nicholas Romeo, Elena Schneider-Futschik and Hiran Selvadurai for all their commitment, dedication and hard work in putting this together over the last year.

 

The updated Framework for attaining Competence in Pulmonary Function testing and the Study guide are now live on the ANZSRS website! Many thanks to the Professional Standard Committee- Irene Schneider, Sarah Baum, Janine Ferns, Paula Fottrell and Elizabeth Smith for all their hard work in updating these documents.
