Hello Visitor,
Thank you to everyone who joined either in person or virtually for our September branch meeting. A big thank you to our sponsor for the evening, Radiometer, for supporting our branch.
The main presentation was given by Dr. Adrian Barnett from Mater Hospital. Adrian took a deep dive into COPD focusing on pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment options. Unfortunately, there was a technical issue during Adrian’s presentation whereby his slides weren’t progressing for those watching virtually. I’m very sorry for this inconvenience, the recording is now available on the ANZSRS website for anyone who would like to listen back whilst viewing the attached slides.
Next up Kaylee Moses and Carmen Warburton presented a case study on Hepatopulmonary Syndrome. The team from Greenslopes Lung Function reviewed the Shunt Study before delving into a case study of a gentleman with chronic liver disease presenting with increasing breathlessness. The recording and attached slides are available for anyone who would like to listen to what is a very interesting case.
Branch news for September can be viewed in the attached slides. Our last branch meeting for 2022 is scheduled for Friday November 11. This will (very likely) be held at a function venue, details are being finalised but for now keep the date free. Another date to note is our Christmas breakup scheduled forFriday December 9which will be held at Norman Park Bowls. Lastly, good luck to all Queensland members sitting the October CRFS exam or preparing to submit an abstract to next year's ASM.
Have a great long weekend,
Chris
